Dear COVID Bride

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. The months leading up to your big day were meant to be abounding with joy, not carrying the burden of worldwide panic.

Instead of showers and girls’ getaways you’re facing cancellations, re-bookings, contract amendments. Despite all of the effort put into planning thus far, every element is now “TBD”. The reception was going to serve as a long-overdue family reunion and you couldn’t wait to see those out of town guests. Post-pandemic may be too late for certain guests of honor to be in attendance. The memory of your wedding day will be bundled in history with “these unprecedented times”. You’re feeling robbed of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

It’s not what it was supposed to be.

Oh COVID Bride, our hearts ache with yours over the fear and stress, and loss. As if preparing for a wedding wasn’t emotionally-complicated enough already. We acknowledge that this is hard and it hurts. No silver-lining plea here, just our empathy and support.

COVID Bride, we love you and stand with you and are cheering you on. We’ll be here when the world hits “play”
